Fabric-wrapped acoustic baffle ceilings for malls, offices and lobbies
GYPTECH baffle ceilings are vertical U-profile blades clamped onto a suspended carrier channel, giving an open linear ceiling that hides the services above and adds sound absorption on both faces of every blade. Section, length, spacing and fabric are set per project, and each blade demounts on its own for access to the plenum.

Frequently asked questions
What size are the baffles, and how far apart are they hung?
Our standard fabric-wrapped baffle is 50 × 100 mm in section and 2400 mm long, hung with a 120 mm gap. Custom metal sections are made up to 220 mm wide, 300 mm high and 4000 mm long, and spacing is set to the acoustic and visual intent of the room.
Can I still reach the services above a baffle ceiling?
Yes. The blades clamp onto the carrier and demount one at a time, so the plenum stays reachable after handover without dismantling a run. Diffusers, sprinklers and luminaires between blades are agreed with the MEP designer before fabrication.
Do you supply only, or supply and install?
We supply and install under one contract: baffle blades, carrier channels, splicers, end caps, suspension rods and fixings, installed by our crews. A soffit suitable for anchoring, MEP coordination above the baffle plane and painting of the soffit are by others.
What drawings do you need to price?
A reflected ceiling plan or layout showing blade direction, the area and ceiling height, the services to coordinate and the fabric colour you want. A BOQ is enough if you already have one.
Can you hang baffles under an existing exposed soffit?
Baffles hang from their own carrier channels on threaded rod anchored to the soffit, so they suit open soffits in malls, offices and lobbies. We need the soffit type and the services above the blade plane to be complete and inspected before installation.
