Acoustic ceilings
Acoustic ceiling clouds and rafts, made in Dammam
GYPTECH makes acoustic ceiling clouds and rafts for offices, hotel lobbies, restaurants and hospitals, cut and assembled in our Dammam workshop and installed by our own crews. Each cloud hangs flat below the soffit on cables or rods, absorbing sound over the area beneath.

Specification
Acoustic ceiling clouds and rafts
- Construction
- Flat acoustic panels hung horizontally below the soffit on cables or threaded rods; both faces are exposed to the room
- Coverage
- A cloud treats part of the ceiling: the soffit around it stays open, and the services above stay in view and within reach
- Fabrication
- Cut and assembled in our Dammam workshop; installed on site by our own crews
- Material
- 100 % polyester acoustic panel; the colour runs through the material, so there is no facing to peel
- Shapes
- Rectangles, squares and circles; other shapes cut to your drawing
- Sizes
- Made to your layout: sizes are confirmed with you and fixed on the approved layout drawings
- Suspension depth and anchors
- Drop set for each project; anchors selected to suit the soffit
- Services coordination
- Cloud positions, sprinklers, luminaires and diffusers are agreed with the MEP designer before fabrication
- Colour
- Agreed with you against a physical sample; slight variation between batches is normal
- Where used
- Interior, dry, conditioned spaces only; not for wet areas or exterior use
- What a cloud is not
- Not a partition: a cloud absorbs sound in the room below it but does not block sound between rooms
- Supplied by GYPTECH
- Clouds, suspension cables, grippers, rods and fixings, and trims where scheduled. By others: a soffit suitable for anchoring, MEP coordination above the cloud plane and painting of the soffit
- Care
- Vacuum with a soft brush; spot-clean with a mild detergent; avoid harsh chemicals and excess moisture

Ask for submittalsFrequently asked questions
What is the difference between clouds, baffles and ceiling tiles?
A cloud is a flat panel hung horizontally below the soffit; it treats part of the ceiling and leaves the soffit around it open. Baffle ceilings are vertical blades hung in runs, and ceiling tiles fill the ceiling from wall to wall on a grid or a concealed carrier. We supply and install all three.
What are your clouds made of?
100 % polyester acoustic panel, cut and assembled in our Dammam workshop. The colour runs through the material, so there is no facing to peel, and it is agreed with you against a physical sample.
How are the clouds hung, and how far below the soffit?
On cables or threaded rods, fixed to anchors selected for your soffit. The drop is set for each project and shown on the layout drawings you approve before fabrication.
Can maintenance teams still reach the services above?
Yes. A cloud ceiling leaves the soffit open around each cloud, so the services stay in view and within reach. Cloud positions, sprinklers, luminaires and diffusers are agreed with the MEP designer before fabrication, and the services above must be complete and inspected before the clouds are hung.
What do you need from us to price a cloud ceiling?
Your BOQ, or a reflected ceiling plan showing the cloud positions and orientation, the suspension depth, the services to coordinate and the perimeter condition, plus the colour you have in mind. Colour is confirmed against a physical sample.
Which certificates can you show?
The scope of our ISO 9001:2015 certificate (SISTEMA) covers the design, manufacture, supply and installation of acoustic ceiling systems, and names cloud and canopy ceilings: view the certificate (PDF). We also hold ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certificates and are a Saudi Aramco registered vendor, vendor code 10064288.
